Half-Garden

Architecture

The half-garden is located at the junction of tourism and traditional residence in Beijing. In this special location, starting from the contradiction between residents and tourists in the site, I cut a traditional courtyard from the middle part, so that the internal story of the courtyard was fully exposed to the tourists and satisfy the tourists’ desire to peep into the life in the old Beijing courtyard. And it also allowed tourists and residents of Dazhalan to have more intersections here, trying to ease the contradiction between the two.
